Maggie Elise Jenkins

December 7, 2012 — May 21, 2021

Together we celebrate the life of Maggie Elise Jenkins, daughter of David and Chelsie Jenkins. Maggie passed peacefully on May 21 st in the arms of her parents at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, Texas. She valiantly completed her lifelong struggle of eight years with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a genetic disease that claims most lives in months. She lived a simple life, but had a powerful influence on all those who knew her. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, purity, and genuine love of others.

Maggie’s little brothers were her world. Babies, puppies, and kittens come next followed by the legion of wonderful people who filled her days. Maggie eagerly followed Christ’s example by being baptized, loving others perfectly, and living a form of patience that only suffering can teach. She is no longer limited by the confines of her body.

We are grateful to the countless friends, family, and teachers who both gave and received so much from Maggie. Maggie is survived by her parents, David and Chelise Jenkins; younger brothers, Mason, Ethan, and James; and grandparents, Neal and Gwen Jenkins and Paul and Shantel Leishman.

A viewing will be held on May 31 from 6-8 pm at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North in North Logan.

A second viewing will be held on June 1 from 9:30 - 10:30 am at the Wellsville Stake Center, 30 South Center Street in Wellsville, Utah. Maggie's funeral will follow at 11 am.

En lieu of flowers, donations can be made the Maggie Jenkins Memorial Fund at Altabank. The fund will be used to make charitable donations to organizations that helped the family throughout Maggie’s life.
