Pamela Marie King Neilson

February 12, 1944 — December 3, 2018

Pamela Marie King Neilson, age 74, of Smithfield, our loving wife, mother, and grandmother suddenly left her earthly home on December 3, 2018. She was born to William Ronald and Elizabeth Josephson King on February 12, 1944 in Logan, Utah. She married Arnold Martin Neilson on August 4, 1965 in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Growing up she shared her time between Logan, Utah and Arbon Valley, Idaho where she helped out on the family wheat farm. She graduated from Logan High School in 1962 and went on to attend Utah State University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics Education in 1966.

Pamela was involved with 4-H as a youth and continued as an adult by involving her own children as she organized clubs and activities for many years. For all her time volunteered, she was awarded the Top 4-H Volunteer in Utah Award.

She worked at Utah State University for 22 years in a variety of departments, where she served and helped support students, faculty, and staff. She was a proud member of the USU Old Main Society.

She was always busy whether it was gardening, fixing up the old house and Idaho homestead, or helping to love and support her growing family. She loved her children and grandchildren very much! She organized Grandma and Grandpa days where they put on skits, decorated crafts, and had sleepovers. The youngest grandkids loved their overnight trips to the homestead in Idaho for a fun getaway.

She was an active member of the Smithfield 17th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the Book of Mormon so much that she read it many times and marked them for her grandchildren. She then presented a personal copy to the grandchild on their baptism day. She was proud of her grandsons serving in the mission field and made it a point to write to them every week.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold; children, Renae (Greg) Hansen, Paul (Heather), Larry (Becky), Jonathan (Melissa), and Katherine (Jake) Andrew and fifteen grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers J. Wayne (Joan) King, and Everett (Edna) King. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronald LeRoy King.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Smithfield 17th Ward Church at 345 E. 300 S., Smithfield, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary at 34 E. Center, Logan. Burial will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Smithfield 17th Ward Relief Society, the medical staff at Logan Regional Hospital, and friends and family for their love and support.
