Peggy Sue Hamilton Follett

Peggy Sue Follett, aged 80, died on 14 December 2018 in American Fork, Utah after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Peggy was born on 26 May 1938 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the fifth of nine children born to Jimmie Sylvester Hamilton and Bobbie Alexander Copeland. Her parent’s family consisted of one son and eight daughters. On the 26th of May 1946 she was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in an irrigation canal in Wichita Falls, Texas by her father and remained a faithful member throughout her life. Her family moved from Texas to Utah when she was 13 years old. She married Richard Frank Follett on 25 July 1956 in the Logan, Utah Temple. To this union were born four children, Jackie (Blaine) Brady, Jay (Marie) Follett, Suzanne (Jeff) Cannon and Kenneth (Jane) Follett.
Dick and Peggy moved to Santa Rosa, California and lived there for many years where Dick worked as a school teacher. When school was out the family spent six summers in Yellowstone National Park where Dick was a Ranger Naturalist.
Her life’s work was her family and her legacy lives on. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. After the death of her husband in 1997, she became a skillful genealogist and spent many hours in this pursuit and in helping others. She was artistic and loved flowers. Her home was always clean and welcoming and was a favorite gathering place. She was a great cook and decorated birthday and wedding cakes to perfection.
Peggy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.
Besides her children, she leaves behind sisters Annie Belle Hamilton, Sharon (Keith) Wilde, Ardyth (Mel) Larsen, Linda (Robert) Huddleston, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday 20 December 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel at 1320 W 3540 N St, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. A visitation will be held prior to the services from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Hyde Park, Utah Cemetery, 400 E Center, Hyde Park, UT on Friday 21 December 2018 at 11:30 a.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
