Ralph Stanley Cook

August 3, 1956 — April 11, 2019

On April 11th, after a courageous battle with cancer Ralph Stanley Cook, peacefully returned to his loving Heavenly Father. He was surrounded by his family in his home in Wellsville, Utah.

Ralph was born August 30, 1956 to Maxine and Stanley Cook in Payson, Utah. As a child, Ralph was active and a little mischievous. Growing up, he loved being outdoors with his family camping, hunting and fishing. Beloved traditions he continued with his own family over the years. Ralph also enjoyed playing baseball and riding his motorcycle.

Ralph married Susan Dove in 1978 and was blessed with two daughters Kristy (Nathan Griggs), Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kaylene (Derek Scott) Laurel, Montana. The couple later divorced.

On December 23, 1993 Ralph married the love of his life, Rachel Phillips. They were sealed March 22, 1994 in the Salt Lake temple. Ralph loved Rachel’s three children Rebecca (Justin Archibald), Willard, Utah, Jake Slane (Kandyse), Preston, Idaho and Rachelle (Shane Stenquist) Woods Cross, Utah, as his own. Ralph and Rachel were also blessed with three daughters together, Liz, Lauren and Madison. Ralph is the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren.

Ralph was a strong, active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man, Ralph dutifully earned his Eagle Scout and served in the Toulouse, France mission. Over the years he has faithfully served in his wards, holding multiple callings and loving his fellow brothers and sisters. Ralph also enjoyed serving as a temple worker in the Salt Lake temple. Ralph often shared powerful testimony of the reality of our Savior, and the Plan of Salvation.

Ralph had a quiet, inspiring humility. Much like our Savior, he let all he came in contact with know how much he cared. He made many sacrifices on behalf of his family. Ralph supported his children in countless different activities and events. His physical presence is already greatly noticed and deeply missed. We hold dear to lessons Ralph taught his family on the doctrine of eternal families. We feel his continued love and support and we are grateful to know we will be reunited once again.

Ralph was the owner of Ted's Sandwich Shop in Hyrum, Utah. He was manager at Sizzler Restaurant and also worked for Schreiber foods.

Ralph is survived by his parents, Maxine and Stanley Cook of Midvale, Utah, his older sister Donna King, and younger siblings, Diane (Perry Coffman), Gordon Cook (Meriann), Lori (Micheal Landon), and Gary Cook (Julie).

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 18, 2019, in the Wellsville 8th Ward Chapel, 49 West 200 South, Wellsville, Utah. Friends are invited to honor Ralph and share their memories with family prior to the services on Thursday at the church from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. A viewing will also be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. 34 East Center Street in Logan, Utah.

A special thanks to Dr. Richard Johnson, Dr. Dallin Jones, nurses and other medical stuff at Logan Regional, and Intermountain Hospice for their tender care.
