Ralph Anderson Parker

Ralph Anderson Parker, 71, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous year long fight with esophageal cancer.
Ralph was born July 10, 1948 to Alton Bradshaw and Leora Anderson Parker in Logan, Utah. He lived his entire life in Wellsville, Utah. He graduated from Sky View High School in 1967, then attended Utah Technical College in Salt Lake City where he graduated in automobile mechanics in 1969, soon after he began his military service.
On March 13, 1970 Ralph married Marcene Leatham in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with four daughters. Denise (Keith) Welch of Aurora, CO; Nicole (David) Tomlinson of Great Falls, MT; Tara (Ryan) Taylor of River Height, UT; Martee (Eric Lundberg) Parker of Wellsville, UT.
Ralph worked for 38 Years of honorable and distinguished service to the United States Military and the Utah Army National Guard, ending his career as Master Sergeant for the 1-145th Field Artillery Unit where he specialized in mechanical and artillery repair. During his service Ralph was activated in 2001 for one year at Dugway Proving Grounds under Operation Noble Eagle.
While working at the Smithfield Armory Ralph joined the Smithfield Fire Department in May of 1978 and the EMT unit in December 1985 until the Armory closed and he was reassigned to the Logan Armory. Ralph also joined the Wellsville Fire Department in July of 1981 where he served for 37 years, with 10 of those years being Fire Chief and continued as EMT First Responder for 26 years.
After his retirement in 2005 Ralph worked for the City of Wellsville and was also on the Wellsville City Irrigation Board up until July 16th due to the circumstances of his illness.
Ralph will be best remembered for his patriotism, and service to his family, country and the community that he loved along with the quiet acts of service to his fellow men not expecting any recognition.
Ralph is survived by his wife, his daughters and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his brother Paul (Darlene) Parker. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Arlene and Eldon Cooper and brother Deloy and Diane Parker.
Our family would like to recognize and give a special thanks to Dr. S. Sliesoraitis and his staff, The Gossner Cancer Center, Dr. K Duke and IHC Home Health and Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 26, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Church located at 660 S 100 W, in Wellsville. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 25, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday prior to funeral services. Interment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.allenmortuaries.com
