Sheryl Lily Nettles passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Cache Valley Assisted Living Center. Sheryl was born August 18, 1940 to Theodore John and Lilly Anderson Zilles, the seventh of eight children. Sheryl grew up in College Ward, Utah, and graduated from South Cache High School. Upon graduation, she moved to Florida with her sister and best friend, Wanda. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert Maxey Nettles, Jr. They were married on February 8, 1960 in Maryland. Bob was a member of the US Navy. Their early married life was spent on various US Navy Bases. During this time, they welcomed three sons, Robert, Steven, and Kyle. After Bob’s retirement from the Navy in 1975 they lived Jacksonville, St. Louis, San Antonio, and finally settled in Savannah. Sherry and Bob enjoyed dancing and could be found dancing on the weekends. Wanda remained Sherry’s best friend, and they enjoyed traveling together and many adventures each year. After Bob passed away in 2012 Sherry moved back to Logan to be closer to family.
After returning to Logan, she enjoyed spending time with family, reading, and constructing various pieces of wooden furniture.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert (Dorie) Nettles, Millville, Utah, Steven Cary (Krista), San Antonio, Texas, Thomas Kyle (Krissy), McKinney, Texas, granddaughters, Stacy, Amanda, and Rachel and grandson Jacob, great-grandchildren Isabelle, Theodore, and Oliver, and her brother Jake Zilles. She was proceeded in death by her husband Robert, parents, and siblings, Elda, Ellen, Margene, Dell Loy, Rex, and Wanda.
Her family would like to express deep appreciation for the care and attention she received while at Cache Valley Assisted Living.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 26th at 11:30 a.m., at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan. A viewing will be held before the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
