Teresa May Bodrero

June 27, 1958 — June 30, 2022

Teresa May Bodrero, 64, progressed from this earth life on June 30, 2022. Teresa was the oldest of seven children born to Arden Larsen Bodrero and Shirley May McBride in Logan, UT, on June 27, 1958.

She was raised in Wellsville, UT. Although she grew up on the family dairy farm, you would find Teresa inside taking care of her younger siblings or reading a good book. In her youth, she actively participated in the 4-H program and continued this passion into adulthood, volunteering and judging fair entries, as well as leading 4-H clubs for her nieces. Teresa was able to travel to many places across the United States attending National Collegiate 4-H conferences, the highlight being a trip to Washington D.C. In 2014 she received the 4-H Award of the Ruby Clover signifying 30 years of service.

Teresa graduated from Sky View High School in 1976. In 1978 she graduated from what was then the LDS Business College with an associate degree in Fashion Merchandising and Interior Design. She continued her education at Utah State University. After student teaching at Dixie Jr. High School, Teresa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education in 1983.

While attending USU, Teresa was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron Sorority and the Lamda Delta Sigma Sorority (LDS Institute). She enjoyed staying involved in these organizations for several years in advisory roles.

Teresa was a life-long learner. She continued to take college courses and furthered her education for many years. It has been said that she had enough credits for several more degrees.

In 1990, Teresa started working at Utah State University in the Family and Human Development Department. She was a dedicated member of the department’s administrative support staff and loved working there. Many relied on her to edit and review their theses and dissertations. As technology evolved, Teresa kept up and soon became the department’s IT go-to person. Due to health issues, Teresa retired in 2017 as a Staff Assistant. She missed her USU career, especially the opportunity it gave her to be on the cutting edge of technology.

Teresa loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life. She served in many callings over the years, and particularly enjoyed those related to technology. She loved compassionate service and was a faithful visiting teacher to many. Teresa served a Church Service Mission for the LDS Tech Department from 2013-2015. Recently she was proud to have earned her Young Womanhood Recognition Award. In her final years, Teresa’s love of the gospel continued to grow through her daily scripture study, particularly the Come Follow Me program.

Teresa used her editing skills to assist in the publication of her family’s histories. She loved assisting in this work, especially as the research technology progressed in this field. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Teresa was a beloved aunt to her 15 nieces and nephews. She remembered them on their birthdays and at Christmas, always creating meaningful gifts from the heart. In her later years, when she could not attend family events due to her health, she always showed her support with thoughtful gifts, words of encouragement, and congratulations. Social media was a blessing, allowing her to stay connected with her family.

Spending the last five years at Sunshine Terrace, Teresa was truly a blessing to many. Although she was limited physically, she shared her talents with staff and fellow residents, all who enjoyed her special spirit. She will be missed.

Teresa is survived by her mother, Shirley, Wellsville, UT; brothers Glenn Bodrero, Scipio, UT and Tracy Bodrero, Wellsville, UT; sisters Vicky (Bruce) Gates, Wellsville, UT; Susan Hawkes, Franklin, ID; and Angela (Shawn) Beecher, Spanish Fork, UT. She was proceeded in death by her father, Arden; brother and sister-in-law Lyle and Charity Bodrero; sister-in-law Sandra Bodrero.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Sunshine Terrace for their care and support to Teresa and her needs over the past five years, and most importantly in the final few days of her life.
