Venda Jorgensen King

December 11, 1925 — October 13, 2016

Venda (Jorgensen) King
Venda (Jorgensen) King passed away peacefully on October, 13, 2016, in Lewiston, Ut. She was 90 years old. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 17th, in the Lewiston 4th Ward Chapel at 12:00, with visitation from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A viewing will be held Sunday, October 16th, at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North, 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Venda was born December 11th, 1925, in Lewiston Utah, to Eve (Neilson) Jorgensen and Eric Rudolph Jorgensen. She married Norman Wiser King on April 1, 1942 in the Logan Temple. Her dedication and devotion to him did not dim through 60 years of marriage.
During World War II Norman served in the army. Venda lived in Washington State with her parents, worked at a frozen food plant, a Five and Dime store, and as a cashier at JC Penney.  When her children grew older, she successfully managed Andy’s Drive In for many years, then worked until retirement at Theurer’s store. She served in many callings in the LDS Church, and loved to attend the temple.

On October 17th, 2002, Venda’s beloved Norman left this earth to wait to greet her on the other side. There were lonely times without him, but her children rallied around her. She went on many trips with them, including visits to LDS Church history sites and Hawaii. Many family parties, holiday and birthday celebrations were held in her honor.
A late blooming love in her life was, the Utah Jazz. She knew each team member, and spoke of them as if they were her own children. Heaven help the referee who cheated one of her boys out of a scoring opportunity.
Venda’s children and grandchildren have been the center of her life. Her first grandchild was born on July 25, 1966. The 24th grandchild was born on May 27, 1992, one day before the first great-grandchild. Venda leaves behind, six children, Michael (Cathy) King, Jay (Sailini) King, Paul (Linda) King, Clair (Sherry) King, Janis (Rudy) Morales, Kaye (Douglas) Eddie, 24 grandchildren and 61 Great-grandchildren. All of them love her and praise her for the great example she has shown them. She lived a life filled with love, faith and service.
The family would like to thank the many loving hands at Sunrise Park in Lewiston, and Access Hospice, who assisted with her care.
