Vivian Josephine Jones Baker

June 1, 1936 — May 12, 2017

Our loving mother, grandmother, and dear friend, returned to her Father in Heaven, Friday after struggling so long with diabetes. She was also greeted by her husband, Bill and her eldest son, Allen.
We are sure that reunion was joyful.
Vivian was born June 1, 1936 to Thomas Gibbs Jones and Metta Caroline Henriksen. She was raised and schooled in Logan, Utah. She was blessed with wonderful siblings,; Ivan, Dorlene Kaee Genevieve, Lilian,Thomas and Donna Dorgetti (Bud / deceased ) She married William Lamar Baker Jan 1,1954 Their marriage was later solemized in the Logan LDS Temple on May 17, 1965. They had the privilege of raising seven sons and two daughters; Allen (Jone Hardy), Bruce (Kaye Estep), Deanne Clark, Carrie VanCott, Carl, Marvin, Jeffery, Dennis and Kent (Jannette Laurson). They have also been blessed with 34 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
As a young girl she was raised on a farm and in a large family, there was always something that needed to be done, her parents had taught them how to work hard and had learned what compassion involved having had lost so many siblings in death. The hardest I believe was when Ivan was killed in WWII and Lilian and Genevieve passed away after rescuing her from the fire in their home when she was a young girl.
Moms heart has always been huge, always trying to help others in their times of need. Our mother was a wonderful woman. She loved her family and loved to do things that brought a smile to their faces. She was a great cook and made the best loaves bread and pies ever. She also enjoyed the outdoors and going to Montana with her family, they would always stay in cabin number six at Campfire Lodge and go fishing on the Maddison river. Yes, there were some real whopper of fish stories each year! Those will be memories that will last forever.
The funeral services will be held at Noon on May 17, 2017 at the Nibley 4th Ward building. 360 W. 3200 S. in Nibley. A viewing will held one hour before the Services. Internment will be in the Providence City cemetery.
