Hyrum - Blaine James, 76, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2017 from an extended illness . Blaine was born October 13, 1940 in Logan, Utah to William R and Laura Leonhardt James. He graduated from South Cache High School. He was a plumber by trade and a member of the Plumbers and Fitters Union Association. He married Nelda Faye McBride, his high school sweetheart on June 2nd 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Blaine was a kind dedicated man with a giant heart, and was an extremely hard worker. He would do anything for his wife , children or anyone that needed a hand. Blaine was the definition of “unconditional love”. He will be fondly remembered for his kind and helping hand towards others.
Blaine is survived by his wife Nelda, children, Douglas James (Chris) Patty Thornley, Shaynne James (Denise)six grandchildren Tyson, Zac, Cody, Casey Thornley, Courtney James and Ariel James, great granddaughter McKinley Ty Thornley. He is also survived by siblings, Clair James, Patsy Williams(Neal) Boyd James (Trudene) Darrell James (Cindy)Kathy Keiser (Dave). He was preceded in death by grandson Tyler Troy Thornley, sister Laura Lee Atkinson and a brother Richard James.

Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, Wednesday August 23, 2017 from 6-8 pm. There will also be a viewing on Thursday August 24th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the 8th Ward Chapel Stake Center, 600 South 200 East Hyrum. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am.
