Barbara Ann Selby Jeffs

September 15, 1938 — November 26, 2024

North Logan, Utah

Early on the snowy morning of November 26, 2024 Barbara Ann Selby Jeffs slipped away too soon after a brief illness. Born September 15, 1938 to Kathryn Peery (Goss) and Amel V Selby in Dalhart, Texas, the oldest of 3 girls, Barbara was fond of reminding people you must be born a Texan. Her early and adolescent years were spent in Texas, she became a member of the LDS Church at he age of 14, before she met and married Don L Bybee in November 1956 and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah. From that marriage came 4 children, 1 daughter after 3 sons, and from that neighborhood came a few cherished lifelong friendships. In the 1970s and 80s, after many years of longing and preparation, Barbara sang and traveled the world for almost a decade as a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She also shared her talents in many other musical ensembles and through service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Barbara’s professional accomplishments were varied and many. She began as a switchboard operator for a busy medical center, and later assisted with their conversion to more up-to-date telecommunications equipment. That experience led to decades of employment with Siemens Communications, a company that provides telecommunications systems to businesses large and small. Barbara first configured the software for many clients in Utah, and eventually moved to Virginia and later California to join the headquarters customer education team, teaching employees and customers, and designing curriculum to help clients be successful doing what she had done for so many years.

After retirement, and seeking a companion for life and eternity, Barbara met, married and was later sealed to the love of her life, Roger D Jeffs, of Logan Utah and Star Valley Ranch, Wyoming. They were married May 12, 2009 in Draper, Utah and later sealed in the LDS Logan, Utah Temple.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, and many other dear extended family. Two sons, Thomas E Bybee and Joseph L Bybee, and a son-in-law David Selim also preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Roger D Jeffs and his large extended family, a son, David W Bybee (Lisa), a daughter Susan R Selim, 13 grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a growing number of great grandchildren.

By her request, there will be no funeral service or public viewing. Burial in North Logan Utah and other arrangements are in the care of Allen Hall Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you remember Barbara by your own kind deeds.
