On August 9, 2025, Blaine J Chambers, aged 80, passed away in his home in Logan, Utah following a long fight with Parkinson’s disease surrounded by his family.
Blaine was born in Logan, Utah and grew up in Smithfield, Utah. He was the youngest of Joseph Lynn and Ethel Chambers’ two children. He graduated from North Cache High School. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Central States Mission from August 1964 to August 1966. Upon his return, he started school at Utah State University. He married Judy Lee Bandelin on June 17, 1967, in Minneapolis, MN followed by a sealing in the Logan, Utah temple a couple of days later. Blaine completed his business degree in 1971 after which Blaine and Judy moved to the Minneapolis, Minnesota area where he would start his career at Target as a buyer and would eventually work as a sporting goods manufacturing representative. In time, he owned his own business in this field. Blaine and Judy were active in their church and community and created lifetime friendships with their friends. After raising their family in Minnesota, they made the choice to retire to Logan, UT. Retirement was short lived because Blaine just couldn’t sit still so he decided to try out several new “careers” he sold flooring, worked at the deli counter at Macey’s, drove the LTD, bought and sold a candle company, and then decided to retire once again.
Blaine was a friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand or bring over plate of goodies. He was infamous for his fudge, cookies, and homemade pizza. Blaine enjoyed cooking, watching sports - especially Utah State basketball, having family over for dinners and holidays and, before his Parkinson’s got too bad, going on walks.
He served in various capacities as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including two service missions - one working with humanitarian services and the other helping the special needs students at the Logan High Seminary.
Blaine is survived by his wife Judy Chambers, his sister Linda Hansen, his children, Jody (Todd) Dorius, Robert (Tami) Chambers, Kelly (Steve) Clark, Kevin Chambers, Scott (Haley) Chambers, 9 grandchildren - Katie, Heather, TJ, Kyle, Alyssa, Courtney, Cooper, Payton and Quinn; and 4 great- grandchildren - Brody, Landon, Roxanne and Remington. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in law.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16th at 12 pm in the Eastridge Ward Chapel. There will be a visitation at the church from 10:00 - 11:30 am.
