Obituary

It is with profound sadness and hearts full of love that we announce the passing of Bonnie Allen Burnside, a woman whose personality, warmth, wit, and unwavering compassion left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Bonnie moved through the world with a rare and beautiful combination of qualities - steadfast loyalty, unwavering compassion, and an empathy so genuine that she felt everything deeply.

Her love was boundless and unconditional, extending not only to her family and friends, but to every living creature she encountered. Animals, in particular, held a special place in her heart. Her beloved dogs were not pets - they were her kids, and if you were one of her human children, you already knew exactly where you stood.

Those who knew Bonnie best will remember her laughter as one of her greatest gifts. She possessed a razor-sharp wit and an impeccable gift for finding humor in the most unlikely of places - through sarcasm, irony, and perfectly timed observations that could cut through even the darkest of moments. She had a way of making a room lighter simply by being in it, and her laugh was the kind that stayed with you long after you'd said goodbye

Bonnie was an avid reader with a voracious appetite for knowledge and a good story. She had a fierce passion for travel. She was, at her core, an adventurer. The wanderlust in her spirit was insatiable, and she embraced the world with wide eyes and amazement.

She treasured every adventure her travels brought her, and loved nothing more than sharing those memories - mischief and all.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Rusty Burnside; her children, Nicole (Eric) Steffens, Shana Burnside; and Lucy, her faithful chihuahua.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by her siblings, nephews, nieces, extended family and by the many, many people who were lucky enough to call her a friend.

May she finally wander freely, with a good book in hand and a dog at her side.
