Brian Edward Kirby

Brian Edward Kirby passed away on December 23, 2023, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was 44 years old. 

Brian was born March 23rd, 1979, to Dora and John Kirby, the youngest of six boys. He grew up in Wellsville, Utah until he was 18 attending Cache Highschool, shortly after he graduated he served an LDS mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

After his mission he returned to Logan, Utah where he met Jennifer Smart who he married followed by adopting her daughter Elizabeth (Smart) Kirby before having three of their own. Throughout their lives together they had three more children John, Samantha, and Ashely Kirby. You could always catch Brian attending football and soccer games and any other activity to support them. During summer months he would take his family out and spend a day on the beach and in the waters of Bear Lake, enjoying weekends camping in the mountains of Cache Valley cooking his favorite foods, snowmobiling all winter long over the land surrounding their house in Weston, Idaho. 

Many would describe Brian as goofy, fun, loving, and always willing to lend a helping hand which led to his love of his job delivering propane, making friends and connections across Cache Valley and surrounding areas, often taking his kids along for the ride. His greatest pass times involved watching football every Sunday usually always rooting for the Patriots or the Cowboys, cooking amazing food while listening to his favorite music and making his kids guess the title of a song or the artist performing it as he sings every word.  

Brian Kirby was always a source of joy to his family and loved ones, he will always be a light to those who knew him and will be dearly missed by many.  

He is survived by his mother and father, Dora Kirby, John (Cheryl) Kirby, his brothers, Patrick Kirby, Evan Kirby, Danny (Marianne) Kirby, Nathan Kirby, Scott (Cami) Kirby, his children, Elizabeth (Josh) Grove, John Kirby, Samantha Kirby, Ashley Kirby, 8 nieces, 12 nephews. 

A celebration of life will be held from 2 – 4pm on Saturday, December 30th in the LDS Church Gymnasium at 89S 200W Logan, UT 84321. There will be an open mic for family and friends to share stories about Brian. Services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
