Carma Chambers Boudrero

LOGAN, UTAH: Carma Chambers Boudrero 89, our mother, grandmother and great grandmother returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father Monday July 18, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.

Carma was born March 20, 1922 in Hyde Park, Utah the second of six children born to Alfred William and Lillian Thurston Chambers. Carma was raised in Smithfield where she attended Summit Elementary and Smithfield Jr. High School. She went on to graduate from North Cache High School and Seminary in 1940.

She attended Utah State Agricultural College for three years and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. It is there, in the halls of Old Main, she met Louis Blaine Boudrero. They were married January 6th 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple.

In addition to raising a family, Carma graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in the College of Family Life, and was a member of the National Honor Society in Home Economics, Phi Upsilon Omicron. She taught school in the Cache County School District for 22 years, from 1965-1972 at North Cache Jr. High and 1972-1987 at South Cache Jr. High. She never lost her love for learning and teaching. Carma was an excellent cook, seamstress and homemaker and she loved serving her family.

Carma has been active in the LDS Church throughout her life, having served in Primary, Sunday School, MIA and Relief Society and has been a visiting teacher for over 59 years. She was set apart as a Logan Temple Officiator in 1987 and served there for 14 years. She loved the time she served at the temple and made many lasting friendships.

Blaine and Carma were members of the Old Main Society, Big Blue Club and they were long time Aggie season ticket holders. She was an avid fan and enjoyed attending games with her family and knew all the player’s names. She followed every road game, even when they played late into the night. She rarely missed any basketball games, and attended this year until her health prevented her from doing so.

Carma is survived by her children, David Blaine (Shawna) Hyde Park; Daryl Grant (Janet) Mountain Green, Utah; Richard Alan (Terri) Hyde Park; Randall Clair ( Nadine) Layton, Utah; Bonnie (Dee) Heyrend, Hyde Park; Her legacy includes 25 grandchildren, 3 of whom are currently serving LDS missions, 27 great-grandchildren with three more on the way. She is survived by one brother, Jay Thurston Chambers.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Louis Blaine, a son Alfred Louis and a daughter Lori Ann. Carma was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Loa, brothers Alfred Leo, Theron Dale and Marlin Kay Chambers.

She was a wonderful example of Christ like love and charity.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 23rd at the Willow Valley 2nd Ward Chapel, 825 North 200 West Logan, with Bishop Richard Stockdale conducting. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, and from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
