Florence Carol Haslam Lucherini was born in Lewiston, Utah on December 8th, 1936, and passed away at her home in Hyde Park, Utah on December 3rd, 2025, just five days prior to her 89th birthday. Carol was the youngest child and only daughter of Joe and Zetta Haslam. At the age of six, she contracted polio where she lost the use of her right leg, requiring her to use crutches and later, a wheelchair for the rest of her life. She never let her disability become a hinderance, and in her youth, used her crutch as a bat while playing softball. This caused the demise of many crutches.
Her determination was evident as she married her high school sweetheart, Ray Lucherini in the Logan Temple on December 2nd, 1955. She had six children and raised many others as she ran a daycare in her home for over thirty years.
Mom loved to travel, and her favorite thing was seeing the world with her brothers or children. She went on several cruises and took many other trips to various parts of the country and world.
She was an accomplished pianist and accompanied her brothers as they sang on many occasions. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, diamond art, reading, Hallmark and Christmas movies, and was a talented seamstress until arthritis made it too difficult to use her hands. She was an avid animal lover and had several animals throughout her life including a pet pig that she used to dress in doll clothes and push around in a stroller. For many years she had season tickets to the Aggie basketball games and was an avid Utah Jazz fan. She followed the Jazz closely and went so far as to track the score of each game.
She held many church callings throughout her life and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her four brothers: Raymond, ClaVel, Marlan, and Larry. She is survived by her children: Steven (Kaye) Lucherini, Julie (Mark) Forbes, Suzanne (Randy) Hummel, Terry (Steve Martinez), Jolene (Doug) Tingey, Melanie (Lance) White, nineteen grandchildren, and thirty-two great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Care Center and CNS hospice for the loving care and support they provided not only to mom, but to her family during the last several weeks.
