Carolyn loved her birthday and everyone else’s, too. She celebrated her birthday on August 4 with her husband, children, grandkids, and friends.
Carolyn passed peacefully through the veil the next day, August 5, 2026, with her husband and children by her side.
Carolyn was an amazing seamstress and loved to model the clothes she made.
She loved making hard-tack candy and chocolates and patiently taught her children and their friends how to make them.
One of Carolyn’s favorite things to do was dance in the kitchen with her kids. She could even get Ferris to dance with her from time to time.
The thing Carolyn wanted most was for her family to be together. She always looked forward to the monthly family birthday dinners.
Carolyn married Ferris Thompson on September 22, 1961. Together they had eight children: Nancy, Kathy, Randy, Cindy, Ricky, Terry, Vicky, and Robby.
Carolyn spent her life serving her family. She cooked, sewed, played games, and laughed a lot.
Carolyn also served as Stake Primary President, Ward Primary President, Ward Relief Society President, and in Young Women’s. She also taught a particularly rowdy Primary class that had gone through several teachers before Carolyn came along.
Carolyn and Ferris have 24 grandkids and 23 great-grandkids, with two more on the way.
Carolyn always said, “We always have room for one more.”
She is now rejoicing with her son Ricky, grandson Luke, parents, brother Roger, sisters Gloria and Alta Mae, and her in-laws.
Carolyn will be missed most by her husband, Ferris Thompson; her children, Nancy (Tom) Fox, Kathy (Doug) Dickson, Randy (Emily) Thompson, Cindy (Kevin) Falslev, Terry (Caren) Thompson, Vicky (Jake) Gold, and Robby Thompson; and her grandkids and great-grandkids.
