Cheryl Lee Blackburn, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 11, 2025, after a life devoted to family, education, and community.

Cheryl was born in Great Falls, Montana, to Garth and Eileen Blackburn and later grew up in Logan, Utah, where she was raised in the family home at 203 West Center Street-a residence now recognized as a city historical landmark. She graduated from Utah State University and earned her master's degree in education.

With deep dedication to her students and her subject, Cheryl taught English in California for 53 years, inspiring thousands with her love of literature and learning. Her classroom was a place of encouragement, creativity, and care.

Cheryl loved to travel and found special joy in visiting Jackson Hole, Wyoming-her cherished getaway. She had a beautiful singing voice and shared it often at church events, uplifting others through music. She also had a passion for theatre and performed for many years in productions at Logan's historic Lyric Theatre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garth and Eileen Blackburn; her brother, Brent Blackburn; and her son, Timothy Dente.

She is survived by her sister, Julie Arnes; her children, Don Dente (Jo) and Terri Dente; 17 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Logan Cemetery on Thursday, July 17, at 10:00 a.m. All who knew and loved Cheryl are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.

Cheryl's legacy of kindness, faith, and unwavering commitment to education and the arts will live on in the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
