Obituary

Connie I. Winn Smith, 89, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 with family by her side, in Providence, Utah. She was formally from Nibley, and lived there for many years. Connie was born in Anderson, South Carolina on September 22, 1936. She was the first of five children born to Waymon Winn and Margaret Humphreys Winn Silvey. She graduated from Abbeville High School in Abbeville, South Carolina. She married her high school sweetheart, Martin T. Smith on December 17, 1955, in Calhoun Falls, South Carolina. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 13,1967 They added 5 children to their marriage, from those 5 kids, she got 21 grandkids, 50 great grandkids, and 6 great great grandkids.

While living in Abbeville, Connie worked at Bloomberg Mill in the Weave Room. When they moved to Utah, in 1971. She worked at Logan Regional Hospital. While working at hospital she worked for Dr. Landeen, Dr. Duke, and a few others in a group office. She later followed Dr. Landeen when he started his own practice. She enjoyed her time working and seeing patients.

She retired from Dr. Landeen in 1998. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings within the church.

Her hobbies were making Nana blankets for all of her grandkids, needle point, playing cards, which included games such as “Uno” (she won an award on a cruise), or “Nine Innings”. She loved to also play dominos games such as “Chicken Foot” or “Penny on a Train”, going on vacations with family to many places, whether camping, going to Myrtle Beach, Bear Lake, Cancun, or even going on Cruises. Every year they would go back to South Carolina, and stay with family. Her favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves, Colorado Rookies and the Utah Jazz. She loved watching “Wheel of Fortune” and “The Golden Girls”. Connie & Martin always made sure that they took their kids on family vacations when they were little. She also loved southern cooking and had to have the traditional southern meal on New Year’s Day. If you are from the South, you know what that is.

She is survived by her children Martin C. (Frances), Logan, UT; Craig A. (Nancy), Hyde Park, UT; Risa L. (Randy), Clarkston, UT; Michael W. (Gena), Nibley UT: and Debra L. (Michael), Tremonton, UT; along with 20 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren, sister Rebecca (Becky) Tiller, Abbeville, S.C., and many nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents Waymon & Margaret, step father Poey (Sarge) Silvey, husband Martin, siblings Johnny, Allan Dale, Bruce, granddaughter Hayley, and great granddaughter Berlyn. A viewing will be held at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan, Utah on Friday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. A viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, prior to the funeral services starting at 12:00 p.m, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 360 W. 3200 S. In Nibley, UT.
