Daniel Raymond Birschbach passed away on May 15, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Logan, Utah. He was born March 7, 1938, in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin, the son of Herman and Elsie Gundert Birschbach. After graduating high school, he served in the US Air Force during which time he met his sweetheart, Marcia McBride, in Boise, Idaho. Following his service in the Air Force, they married and resided in Denver, Colorado, where their daughter, Lesli, and son, Jeff , were born. Dan then joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and on June 15, 1965, the young family were sealed in the Logan temple. While living in Denver, Dan owned a barber shop called The Male Image. After the family moved to Logan in 1974, he was the Montgomery Ward catalog agency manager. Later, he was the car leasing manager at Chrysler Dodge. He then purchased and was the owner of Stripe Line, a car accessory business from which he retired in 2000.
Dan served in many church organizations. He was a leader in the Boy Scouts, the Young Men's president, a ward missionary, Stake mission president, served in three Bishoprics, was the Bishop of the Logan 7th Ward, and a High Councilor in the Mt. Logan Stake. He and his wife served a mission in the Nauvoo, Illinois mission and were there during the temple open house. Dan and Marcia also served together as temple workers in the Logan temple. He was a member of The Towne Singers, the Imperial Glee Club, and The American Festival Chorus. Dan and Marcia have performed in musical programs throughout Cache Valley. Surviving are his wife, Marcia, of Logan; daughter Lesli (LeRon Weeks) of Nibley, Utah; son Jeffrey (Sharla Reading) of Saratoga Springs, Utah; brother Kenneth Birschbach (Helen) Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Larry deceased) Anderson of Sacramento, California; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister, Diane, and her husband, Dave Van Asche.
We’d like to thank all of those who have helped Dan and his family during his battle with cancer. There will be a viewing held at the Allen-Hall Mortuary (34 E. Center Street in Logan) on Wednesday, May 28th, at 6:00-8:00 p.m.. Another viewing will be held the next morning at 9:30 on Thursday, May 29th, at the Mt. Logan Stake Center (565 E. 100 S. in Logan) followed by funeral services at 11:00 with Bishop Jeffrey Wallentine conducting. Internment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
