Diann Mildred Rockwood Buck passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born July 27, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Charles and Marjorie Jenkins Rockwood, Diann was the eldest of four daughters. She grew up in Iona, Idaho, where she embraced the values of faith, family, and hard work that shaped her life.
On November 18, 1960, Diann married her high school sweetheart, Marvin D. Buck, in Iona, Idaho. One year later, on November 17, 1961, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. In 1977, they moved to North Logan, Utah, where they built a loving home together. Their children and grandchildren were the joy of Diann’s life, and she treasured every opportunity to gather with them.
Together, Diann and Marvin raised six energetic boys. With patience, love, and the familiar phrase “Wait until your dad gets home”, she taught them discipline and responsibility. She instilled in them the values of hard work and the practical skills of cooking, cleaning, sewing, and gardening. Through her devotion and example, she helped shape them into honorable men.
A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Diann served in many callings, including Primary President and in the Relief Society Presidency. Her favorite calling was serving as Ward Music Chairperson, a role she joyfully fulfilled for many years. Diann and Marvin served together in the Canada Vancouver British Columbia Mission from June 2010 to June 2011. Mostly in the area of Prince George.
Diann loved music and singing. In high school, she performed with a special vocal group called the Madrigals. Later in life, she and Marvin shared their voices in many duets at weddings and funerals, creating cherished memories for family and friends.
Diann worked at Utah State University for 25 years before retiring in 2009. She delighted in playing card games with loved ones, tending her flowers, and preparing holiday meals that brought her family together. She made the best Cherry Pies!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marjorie Jenkins Rockwood, and her great-granddaughter, Juliet Diann Dexter. She is survived by her husband, Marvin D. Buck; her sons: Troy (Becky) Buck of Paisley, FL; Lance (Cheryl) Buck of Clinton; Shane (Sandra) Buck of Lehi; Charles “Brett” (Vici) Buck of Brigham City; Scott (Kelli) Buck of Idaho Falls; and Lee (Missy) Buck of Smithfield; along with 27 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
