Our sweet mother Dorothy Purser Seamons passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025. Born April 1, 1926 in Hyde Park, Utah to Melvin and Lila Purser. Dorothy was the oldest child of six siblings. Donald, Patsy, Vern, Garth and Mike.

Mother lived a simple and beautiful life for 99 years, 96 of them living in her beloved Hyde Park. Never complaining, mother carried on for almost three more years as she moved closer to family at Whisper Cove assisted living in Kaysville, Utah. We love and admire her courage and strength as she lived happily and endured to the end.

Born in 1926, Mother grew up during challenging times that forged her strength and character and resilient spirit. To her, hard work was not a burden but a blessing-a way to care for those she loved. She taught us by example.

Mother often expressed that her greatest accomplishment was when she had completed her family with four daughters–the 4-K’s. Mom devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She was always busy and spent countless hours cooking delicious family meals, sewing all of our dresses, and canning produce from their perfect vegetable garden. Mother kept an immaculate home and between her and our dad, their landscaping skills were amazing!

Dorothy attended local schools and graduated from North Cache high school. In her teenage years she was selected to be Smithfield Health Day queen. She caught the eye of a handsome boy in town Linden D. Seamons, and as they say the rest is history!

She married Linden when he came home on a furlough from the Army and on August 9, 1944 they were married in the Logan Temple. Soon after they traveled to North Carolina for a short time before Linden departed for Europe to serve in WWII. After his return mom and dad built their lives around their home and family with four daughters-Karen, Kris, Kallee and Konee. The grandchildren were her delight and no one left their home without a treat! Our parents loved Christmas and the Seamons family Christmas party was always the best from delicious food, games, the nativity reinactment, and gifts for everyone!

In their later years, our parents were happy and healthy and enjoyed their lovely Hyde Park Hut!

Dorothy’s legacy will live on in the stories we share, the traditions she passed down, and the values she instilled in us. We remember her love of Bluebird chocolates, her quiet strength, and her determined spirit.

As a family we would like to thank Julie, her hospice nurse and also the help that Berkley gave to our mom. Their kind acts and love for mom was so appreciated and was just what she needed.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband Linden, her parents, son in law Dennie Hill, three siblings; Patsy (Gneiting), Donald, and Vern. Also her partner in crime at the Cove and sister in law, Lujean Nilson.

Dorothy's posterity is numerous and she is survived by; her daughters: Karen, Kris, Kallee (Kurt Allen), and Konee (Glen Johnson.) Also 15 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.

A viewing and funeral will be held Monday July 28, 2025 at the Park Meadow Ward, North Logan Stake Center, 2750 North 800 East, North Logan, Utah.

Viewing from 10:30-11:45am with the funeral following at 12 noon. Internment will be at the Hyde Park City Cemetery immediately following the service.

Rest in peace until we meet again.
