Elva Ann Thornton died May 7, 2006 in Bountiful, Utah,
 
 after a life of joyous service to others. She was born
 
 the oldest of eight children on August 15, 1916, to
 
 George Dunn and Elva Thomas Thornton in Preston,
 
 Idaho.
 
 
 She graduated from Utah State University with a
 
 Bachelors degree in Education and Masters degree in
 
 Social Work. She worked for Utah State Department of
 
 Employment Security for 35 years until retirement.
 
 
 Ann was an active member of the LDS Church. She was an
 
 Ordinance Worker in the Salt Lake Temple. She served a
 
 full time mission in Tampa, Florida and a part time
 
 mission in the Family History Library in Salt Lake
 
 City. She served in many stake and ward callings. She
 
 focused her life on spirituality and in helping others
 
 better themselves.
 
 
 Surviving are her loving sisters, Grace Thornton and
 
 Lorraine (Alva) Young, Bountiful; Mary McKinlay,
 
 Ogden; and sister-in-law Audrey Thornton of
 
 Washington, Utah. Preceding her in death were her
 
 parents; three brothers Howard, George Thomas, and
 
 Preston T. Thornton and sister Norma Enez Thornton.
 
 Ann was loved by her nieces and nephews and their
 
 children. She helped them all through the years giving
 
 much support for missions, educations and weddings.
 
 
 Funeral services will be at 12 PM on Saturday, May 13,
 
 2006 in the North Logan First Ward Chapel, 1105 East
 
 2100 North, North Logan, Utah. Friends may call at
 
 the church prior to services from 10:00 to 11:45
 
 AM.Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
