Florence H. Bybee

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Florence Haviland Bybee, who left us peacefully on December 29, 2025, at the age of 91. She leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and devotion to her faith as a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Florence was a comfort to many and a joy to all. Much of her life was devoted to caring for her family, friends, and community. She filled our lives with warmth and laughter and was truly the heart of our family—always ready with a warm hug or wise words. She will be forever missed and eternally cherished in our hearts.

Florence was born on October 3, 1934, to Lee and Leona Haviland, the first of four children. She married the love of her life, Donald Bybee, on November 14, 1951. Married for over 50 years, they raised five wonderful children, which grew into a large and loving extended family. Florence and Donald treasured each other’s company and spent much of their time traveling together, whether by truck or motorhome.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bybee; her parents, Lee and Leona Haviland; her brothers, Gerald and Gary; her grandson, BJ Larsen, and her great granddaughter Jay Cee Parker.

She is survived by her sister, Margie; her children, Cindy (Doug) Downs, Connie (Reed) Johnson, Craig (Mary) Bybee, Curt Bybee, and Chris (Wendy) Bybee; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and countless friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 5, at 12:00 noon at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
