Flura Justine Campbell Broadhead, 81 years young, passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2025, in Logan, Utah. She passed away wrapped in her favorite Minky blanket while taking a nap at the home where she grew up and made countless cherished memories. She was in the home she loved and must have felt ready to reunite with her many loved ones on the other side including her 3 sons, Kerry, Randy, and Rodney.
Flura was born on November 20, 1943, in Heyburn, Idaho, in the small bedroom of her grandmother’s tiny home. She was the first of 3 children born to Grant Wellington Campbell and Evelyn Christensen Campbell. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Rasmuson (Richard) and brother, G. Wesley Campbell (Lil). Flura loved gathering and talking with her siblings and family- those moments of family were among her greatest joys. She spent many hours hosting family events that are fondly remembered by all who attended.
In 1966, Flura married Delmer Wayne Broadhead and together they had seven children. After raising their family, they separated. Flura earned a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Elementary Education. Some of her fondest memories were of raising her children in the Utah State University trailer park. After completing her college education, the family settled in Hyde Park, UT. Though she was never employed as a teacher, she used her education every day in raising her children. Flura was the ultimate giver. Her compassion for those in need blessed the lives of countless young people who were struggling. Her home was always open to anyone who needed shelter, understanding and love.
Flura was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many church callings throughout her life, fulfilling each with dedication and care. From a young age, she was blessed with a strong testimony, shaped in part by the connection she felt to her pioneer heritage.
She deeply valued the sacrifices made by her ancestors and often spoke of their faith and perseverance. As her children, we were taught the importance of that legacy and the blessing it was to grow up with the gospel. Flura was a treasure trove of faith-filled stories—her words, shared with any who would listen, reflected her love for her family and the gospel. We will miss hearing her stories, which left a lasting impression on all of us. They remain a testament to her faith and her love for her heritage.
Flura is survived by her son Kelly Broadhead (Cassandra), daughter Wendy Broadhead-Lenkersdorfer (George Lenkersdorfer), son Tracy Broadhead, daughter Holly Markey, 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. We rejoice in the knowledge that she is reunited with her sons and parents once again.
Memorial services will be held on July 23, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the LDS chapel at 1550 N 400 E, Logan, Utah. Burial will follow at the Hyde Park Cemetery where she will rest next to her sons, parents, and grandparents.
Flura lived her life to make others’ lives better. She wanted to help others feel better and support them in any way that she could. We are very appreciative of all the close friendships she made in her final years at Rocky Mountain Care nursing home. She felt it was her mission to make the residents happy and to make friendships with everyone she met. She sure did love bingo nights! Thank you to the many nurses, CNAs, and other staff who helped her during her time at the nursing home.
