Obituary

HYDE PARK – Frances Ann Whitley Price, 86, passed away Thursday, after a brave battle with cancer. While her family will miss her deeply, they are comforted in the knowledge that she has been reunited with loved ones who preceded her in death, especially her beloved husband, Tom, whom she looked forward to seeing again…and if that’s not enough, we have given her long list of pets loved and lost to check on.

Frances was born 30 December 1939 on a farm in Milford, Kansas to Willis Robert Whitley and Florence Esther (Miller) Bean. She married her high school sweetheart, William Thomas Price III (RET COL USAF), on 6 July 1958 in Junction City, Kansas. After 28 years as a military wife, Frances worked for twenty years as Registrar for Management Concepts, Inc., where she was respected for her dedication, reliability, and caring nature. She approached her work with the same commitment and integrity that she brought to every aspect of her life.

Family was at the center of Frances’s heart. She loved her children fiercely, and if there was anything that came close to rivaling that love, it was her passion for genealogy. She spent countless hours researching family history, preserving stories, and connecting generations. In fact, if there was a family tree in heaven missing a branch, Frances was probably already working on it. She delighted in uncovering ancestors, preserving family stories, and ensuring that no relative—no matter how distant—was forgotten.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Frances served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life. However, she felt especially drawn to temple and family history work, finding great purpose and joy in helping connect families for eternity through sacred temple ordinances. She was called to create the Family History Center from scratch in the McLean, Virginia Stake when she lived, with her family, in Northern Virginia for many years.

Frances lived her life with faith in Jesus Christ and a firm testimony of eternal families. Her family takes comfort in knowing that the separation they feel today is only temporary and that through the Savior’s Atonement and the blessings of the temple, they will be together again. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her devotion to family history, her loving service, her kindness, and the laughter she shared so freely. Her influence will continue to bless generations to come.

Frances is survived by her children, daughters Penny Kilger, Susan Ellsworth, Victoria Jackson, Melissa Mantor and son William T. Price IV, along with 20 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to her life and who will forever cherish her example, wisdom, and unconditional love. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, sister (Mickey) and brother (Bill).

“Families can be together forever through Heavenly Father’s plan.” Until we meet again, we celebrate a life well lived and a joyful reunion in heaven.

A viewing and funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint’s chapel, 535 E 200 S, Hyde Park, Utah at a date and time to be determined.

Flowers may be sent to Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center Street, Logan, UT 84321.
