1931 Frankie 2025

Frankie Mae Larsen

April 23, 1931 — November 24, 2025

Logan

Frankie Mae Speirs Larsen, age 94, passed away quietly in her sleep on November 24, 2025. She was residing at Legacy Assisted Living at the time of her death.

She was born April 23, 1931 at her grandparents home in Montpelier, Idaho to Frank and Willmirth Speirs. She was raised as an only child but did have a baby sister that died the same day she was born when Frankie was about 8 years old.

Frankie grew up in Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1949. During her Junior year, she met her sweetheart, Ray Larsen. Ray was a year older and after his graduation, he went away to college, but would come home on weekends to date her. He proposed to her the night of her high school graduation. They were married in the Logan Temple on August 25, 1950.

Frankie created a beautiful home for her family. She always welcomed friends & neighbors into her home and supported and worked along Ray's side in his tax practice from January to April each year. During those moths, if you came to their home, you would hear two typewriters busy at work. When they moved from Montpelier to Logan, they continued their tax practice for many years making trips over the mountain each Saturday to meet with clients to get their tax information and then the next week returning their prepared taxes.

In June of 1970, Ray and Frankie picked up their family and moved to Logan for Ray to go back to college and get his degree. Ray and Frankie quickly got involved in the ward and community and loved living in Logan.

Frankie was a stay at home mom and a constant source of strength and love as she raised her family and supported each one of her children. After the kids were raised, Frankie worked at the University during registration at the beginning of each quarter of school. She was also a very supportive grandmother and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in many activities.

Frankie loved to travel and she and Ray were able to go on many trips together including a trip to Scotland and then a few years later, to Japan to pick up both of their missionary sons.

Frankie loved to read and especially enjoyed mysteries. She was a gifted knitter, crocheter, and later in life picked up cross-stitching and probably made over 150 cross-stitch pictures for herself and family members. They are truly works of art and a treasure to own one of them.

Frankie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully throughout the years. She worked in Primary for many years serving in many capacities. No matter the calling, she served valiantly. Frankie also served in the Logan Temple for many years. At the time of her death, she was part of the Legacy Branch.

Her beloved spouse passed away in March 2008 after 58 years of marriage. Frankie remained in their family home until May of 2021 and then moved to Legacy Assisted Living. She loved the many friends she met there and we are so grateful for the staff and caregivers who helped her and took such wonderful care of her.

Frankie was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Ray Larsen, and her beloved daughter, Christy Parkin. She is survived by Cathy (daughter) and Gary Smith, Bob (son) and Cindy Larsen, and Drew (son) and Julie Larsen. She has 17 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, and 2 great great grandchildren with 1 on the way.
