Gary H Lewis

March 9, 1952 — June 19, 2026

Gary H. Lewis, a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather and a man of boundless faith and generosity, passed away leaving behind a legacy defined not by accolades, but by the lives he touched. Born on March 9, 1952, to Newell and Ella Lewis, Gary grew into a man whose very nature seemed rooted in the Savior's example — meeting every soul with warmth, patience, and unconditional love.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Sheryl Lewis, whose partnership was the cornerstone of everything Gary built. Together they raised a family that became his greatest joy: children Jennifer (Dale), Kevin (Rachelle), Ty (Whitney), Kimberly (Greg), Cameron (Suzanne), and Kellen and his wife Rebekah, along with a cherished host of grandchildren who knew firsthand what it meant to be loved without condition. Family was not simply important to Gary — it was his ministry, his mission, and his dearest treasure.

In both his personal and professional life, Gary embodied purpose with passion. As a movie producer, entrepreneur, and public speaker, he wielded his platform to inspire, to challenge, and to uplift. Yet those who knew him best would say his most powerful performances were delivered quietly — in the counsel offered to a struggling friend, the encouragement given without expectation of return, and the example of a life fully consecrated to serving others.

Gary's love for missionary work was a defining thread of his character. He believed deeply in the power of the gospel to heal and transform, and he gave himself generously to that cause throughout his life. He followed the Savior's example not as a distant ideal, but as a daily discipline — one that shaped how he led, how he served, and how he loved.

Among the honors Gary carried with quiet pride was the privilege of serving as an Olympic Torch Bearer in 2002 — a fitting symbol for a man who, in so many ways, spent his life carrying light into the lives of others. Whether he was speaking before audiences, collaborating on meaningful film projects, or simply sitting around a campfire with family, Gary brought that same radiant energy.

Some of Gary's most cherished memories were made beneath the cathedral canopy of the ancient redwoods at Prairie Creek Redwood State Park, where the family returned again and again to camp, to breathe, and to be together. Those towering trees — still and enduring — were not unlike the man himself: deeply rooted, reaching upward, offering shelter to all who drew near.

Gary H. Lewis did not merely believe in unconditional love — he demonstrated it, day after day, in ways large and small, until it became the signature of his life. He leaves behind not a void, but a wealth of memory, faith, and inspiration that will continue to bear fruit in the generations that follow. To love like Gary loved is to carry on his finest legacy.

Survived by his beloved wife Sheryl, and children Jennifer, Kevin, Ty, Kimberly, Cameron & Kellen, and a host of precious grandchildren.

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you.” John 13:34
