George LaMar Clements, 86, of Cache Junction, Utah, died at this home surrounded by love on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Born in Rexburg, Idaho, Dec. 7, 1938, to George Washington Clements and Chloie Thelma Borreson, LaMar grew up farming with his dad, first in Parker and then in St. Anthony and Wilford.
LaMar married his friend and sweetheart, Shirley Young, June 18, 1958 in St. Anthony. They moved to Cache Junction, Utah and together raised four children: Diana (Fred) Woodward, Wade, Mark (Nancy), and Kathryn (Chris Weber). LaMar was also the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. LaMar was preceded in death by his parents, brother, three stepsisters, and one grandchild.
LaMar was the manager of Walton Feed West for 64 years and worked up until two weeks before his death. LaMar was active in his community providing a helping hand to neighbors. LaMar provided many years of service to the Cache County Planning & Zoning committee and Republican party. LaMar loved the outdoors and animals and worked tirelessly to develop a sanctuary for local wildlife on some of his land in Cache Junction.
Funeral services are being handled by Allen-Hall Mortuary. Viewing will be from 6 - 8 pm Sunday, July 6 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center Street, Logan, UT. The funeral will be at noon Monday, July 7 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 76 S 100 W, Newton, UT with a viewing from 10:30 - 11:30. There will be a private family burial service in Rexburg, ID on July 8.
