Grant Moser

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a great man, Grant Willis Moser, 93 years old, of Providence, Utah.

Grant was born on September 4, 1930 in Logan, Utah to Wilford and Afton (Maughan) Moser.  Grant was the younger brother to Mildred Moser Jensen and Wilford “Bud” Moser.

Grant grew up in Logan, graduating from Logan High School.   After high school he continued his schooling and graduated from USU, where he played as a quarterback and halfback on the USU Football team.

Grant also served as 2nd Lieutenant (Airman Apprentice) in the Navy.

During his years at USU he met Amaryllis (Ami) Beckstead Moser and they were married on May 9, 1951 for time and all Eternity in the Logan Temple.  Together the two of them built a life raising their two sons and being very active in anything sports related.

Grant became a basketball coach in Shelley, Idaho, then moved to be the  football and basketball coach in Vernal, Utah, then moved to Brigham City, Utah, where he became the basketball coach for Box Elder High School while also coaching football and golf.

The family moved to Providence while Grant continued to commute to Brigham City.  After many years of teaching and coaching in the school setting, Grant retired and devoted his life to his family by being the best teacher, coach and supporter there was.

Grant is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his wife, and his son Kyle.

He is survived by his son Cameron Moser (Joycelyn Thornley); their son Lance (Allie Hinckley) and their daughter Monica (Jake Pattee).

A daughter in law Joanna Butler; and her children Mindee Zollinger (Tony), Kit Moser, Dane Moser, Jess Moser (Savannah Cassett).

He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary and will take place Monday, April 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fruitland Acres Ward Church House, 465 North 300 East in Providence.  A viewing will be held Sunday, April 14, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church prior to the funeral.
