Horace Joy Turner, 87, of Logan, died Wednesday, Oct.
 
 4, 2006 at his home of natural causes.
 
 He was born July 24, 1919, in Lewiston, Utah. He was
 
 the son of Walter Jasper and Mattie B. Turner. He
 
 married Vema Abel on Nov. 8, 1940, in Logan, Utah. The
 
 marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple
 
 in 1959. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in
 
 the Pacific during WWII. He was raised in Lewiston and
 
 following his marriage lived in Logan. He was an auto
 
 mechanic by trade and worked on cars most of his life.
 
 Dad loved his family, and enjoyed fishing and hunting
 
 with them. He also enjoyed baseball and boxing. He was
 
 a High Priest of the LDS Church and had served in many
 
 callings.
 
 He is survived by his three children and their
 
 spouses: Horace Lynn (Kathryn) Turner, Wellsville;
 
 Joseph Kevin (Kit) Turner, Rock Springs, Wy; Vicki Jo
 
 (Phillip) Chadburn, Hyrum. He is also survived by 8
 
 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren, a brother and a
 
 sister. His wife and parents preceded him in death.
 
 Graveside services will be held at 11 :OOam Saturday,
 
 Oct. 7, 2006, at the Logan City Cemetery. No Funeral
 
 or Viewing will be held.
