Janet Pitcher Karren, 92, passed away December 28, 2025, at Birch Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care in Smithfield, Utah.
Janet was born on January 30, 1933 in Smithfield, Utah to William Alden Pitcher and Mayma Neilson Pitcher. She attended Summit School and Smithfield Junior High and graduated from North Cache High School in 1951. She married Farrell Karren on January 17, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple. Janet worked at Sky View High School and Cache Valley Dairy. Her favorite job was being a mom and taking care of her home. She loved sewing and spent hours sewing our clothes and Barbie doll clothes. Being a mother and a wife was her life mission. She supported everyone in the family, she never missed a ball game, dance recital, or anything the family was involved in, It did not matter if it was her kids, grandkids, or great grand kids, she was always there to support them.
Janet leaves behind her children: Nancy Bingham (Victor), Cindy Porter (Fred), and Brent Karren (Jodi). Ten grandkids, twenty-eight great grand kids and six great great grandkids.
Her passing was preceded by the deaths of her parents, her husband Farrell Karren, her daughter Brenda Karren, and her brother Bruce Pitcher (Mava).
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Chris, Amber, and the staff at Birch Creek Assisted Living, along with Monte and Prim Rose Homecare and Hospice, for their dedicated care of Janet over the last four years.
The memorial service is schdeduled for January 5, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Logan Utah. Visitation takes place from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. and the Funeral Service at 11:00. With burial to follow at the Smithfield Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
