Janet Diane McMurdie Wilson of Logan, Utah and formerly of Pullman, Washington died November 5, 2025, at Maple Springs Assisted Living Facility in North Logan, Utah.

She was born September 30, 1939, in Logan Utah to William Evan and Geneva Wadsworth McMurdie. She married Robert Burton Wilson Sr. on June 1, 1962, in Logan, Utah. She is survived by her husband, a daughter. Janet Diane Johnson (Krister), Miflothian, Virginia; and three grandchildren: Chayce Edward Martin, James Robert Martin, and Liliane Geneva Johnson. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Burton Wilson Jr, her parents, and siblings: William Evan. McMurdie Jr, Rachel Renee McMurdie, Maughan Wadsworth McMurdie, and Kay Louise McMurdie Tilley.

She graduated from Logan, Utah High School in 1956 and from Utah State University in 1961 with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. An accomplished violinist, she was a member of the university orchestra for four years and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.

She taught in the public schools of Logan, Utah, Gloucester, Massachusetts, Provo, Utah and Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada where she received tenure and many letters of commendation from grateful parents. She served as a crossing guard for Pullman Schools for 21 years,

A life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mrs. Wilson served as, Young Women’s adviser and president in three wards, Young Women’s stake president, Relief Society president in two wards and a member of a stake Relief Society presidency in two stakes.

Highly devoted to public service, she served as a volunteer and officer of the Pullman Regional Hospital Auxiliary, president of the Washington Association of Hospital Auxiliaries, president of Franklin Parent Teachers Association, and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, Pullman Child Welfare, Pullman Junior Miss program, and the Pullman Food Bank. She was instrumental in encouraging members of her church to greater community service.

The Gift Garden of Pullman Regional Hospital carries her name in recognition of her long and excellent service. She was a member of the Old Main Society of Utah State University and the President’s Associates of Washington State University.

The funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall and will be posted soon. Interment will be at the Logan City Cemetery.
