Jeanette Baker Robison, age 78, passed away on November 27, 2025, in North Logan, Utah.

Jeanette was born and grew up in Los Angeles, California. Her parents were Frans Eli Efraim and Letha Belle Martinson. Jeanette deeply cared for and often looked after her younger siblings. At nine years old, she had the privilege of being baptized when her family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved participating in her church youth group, including performing in traveling road shows. Jeanette was an exceptional student and participated in choir and volleyball, and received top honors for her scholarship and leadership while at Bell High School. One of her cherished places to visit growing up was the beach. Throughout her life she always looked forward to seaside visits.

Jeanette attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English in 1968. She taught high school English in California; at Payson High School in Payson, Utah; at Central High School in Springfield, Massachusetts; and at Glenwood High School in Chatham, Illinois. She also was a dedicated assistant coach to the Glenwood High School speech team. Jeanette believed strongly in the power of education and was extremely devoted to her students. She championed struggling learners, supported teenage mothers and those facing serious challenges, and was recognized for significantly improving writing skills and test scores at Glenwood High. Her students fell in love with reading Shakespeare plays, and when she taught the Odyssey she always brought a nerf bow and arrow to act out the dramatic return of Odysseus. When she retired from teaching in 2008 she left a great legacy of learning and love.

Jeanette met her eternal companion, Scott Robison, while attending BYU. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in August 1969. Jeanette and Scott were dedicated to each other and their six children. Parenting for Jeanette and Scott was intentional and full of purpose. They prioritized time together, taught their children in their home, created adventures near and far, and gave generously of their time and energy to be present in the lives of their children and, later, their grandchildren.

From 1983 to 1991, Jeanette worked as the office manager for Robison Machinery, the family business. Her thoroughness and attention to detail allowed the business to thrive and gave both her and Scott flexibility during the time their children were young.

Her sewing skill was well recognized. Jeanette was a maker of everything from wedding dresses to play clothes. Christmas Eve was often marked by the sound of the sewing machine whirring away to have a new dress or beautiful doll ready to be found under the tree the next morning. One Easter in Miami, she lined up her then five children on the front porch of their home in matching hand-sewn attire for a photo. She somehow had managed to sew a family of outfits with the demands of tending to her young children alone while her husband traveled week days for business.

Jeanette’s love of history was evident in the way she delved into the past everywhere she lived and traveled. Her curiosity and interest added a greater depth of experience for those traveling with her. She was a dedicated docent at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois for many years. Grandchildren and other family and friends were often treated to top notch personal tours of the museum while visiting. Jeanette always pointed out small and interesting things that may have been overlooked and, of course, hinted to children where the secret Lincoln penny was hiding.

Jeanette was an avid reader and appreciated great literature. She sparked the same interest in her children and students. She often took her children to the library and purchased books that matched their interest. One student told her that the novel he was reading in class was the first book he had read since elementary school.

Throughout her life Jeanette hosted a myriad of events with unusual poise and zero fuss. She arranged large banquets, weddings, parties of all kinds, and notably volunteered as the Stake Girls Camp Cook for four years in a row. For innumerable fine meals she singularly did the work of many and did so with joy and grace because she loved to bring people together and see those she cared about happy.

Jeanette's membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was central to her life. She served faithfully in many capacities, including as Relief Society President (three times), Stake Primary President, Primary chorister, temple worker in the St. Louis Missouri Temple, Assistant to the Stake Clerk and seminary teacher. She touched hundreds of lives through her service. Her time as a seminary teacher was particularly memorable to her own children and their friends, who often remarked on how Jeanette taught them to understand and love the scriptures.

Jeanette and Scott served three missions together. They touched the hearts of many while serving in Johannesburg , South Africa (2011-2013). They were later able to serve in Los Angeles, California (2022-2024). Upon moving to North Logan Utah they accepted a service mission at the Logan Utah Employment Center where they are well remembered for their kindness and hard work.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her beloved husband Scott Clark Robison, and her siblings Pat Cable and Mike Martinson. Jeanette is survived by her six children: Traci Klein (Kjartan Arnorsson), Paul Robison, Melinda (Michael) Lines, Tina (Kurt) Engelbrecht, David (Rebecca) Robison, and Daniel Robison; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her sisters Fran Wilson and Cindy Robinson.
