Obituary

Jean (Bindrup) Parker grew up with her family of five siblings (Kay, Toni, Ray, Verda, and Vance) at the family home in River Heights, Utah, born to her father Karl O. Bindrup and mother Ramona (Follett) Bindrup. Both of her parents passed in 1960. Brothers Ray and Vance preceded her in death.

Jean spent her youth as a good student, attending elementary school at Providence Elementary and senior high at South Cache High School. She graduated in 1955. She enjoyed her friends in Marching Group, ice skating, horseback riding, walking into town for malts and working at picking produce for extra money for her adventures growing up.

After high school graduation, Jean moved to Salt Lake City with friends, taking a job downtown. She lived there for 4 years, coming back to Cache Valley on weekends to see her family.

Jean met Heber Clair Parker in the spring of 1959 and they married on June 5th, 1959. She and Heber established their home in Wellsville where they raised their two sons, Brian Clair Parker and Jason Heber Parker. She loved her boys ferociously. Jean also enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters (Kacee Jo and Kyann), and two great-grandkids (Sage Jo and Michael).

Heber and Jean lived together in Wellsville until Heber's death in January 2022. Jean was active in the Wellsville LDS church as well as being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Her faith was so very important to her. She enjoyed many life-long friendships in Wellsville.

Jean remained in Wellsville until January 2025 when she moved to Cache Valley Assisted Living in Providence. She enjoyed her new home at Cache Valley Assisted Living, becoming part of the wonderful community of residents there. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at CVAL for the amazing care and love shown to Jean.

Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Allen-Hall Mortuary at 10:00 AM. There will be a viewing prior to the service at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Wellsville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your local ward Missionary Fund.
