Joseph Harold Deschler Jr., was born on the 7th of May 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, to Beatrice Elizabeth Stager and Joseph Harold Deschler Sr.. Joseph's mother died in 1940 and after his father remarried, Joseph was then raised by his step mother, Cecelia Weimert. Joseph died at the age of 88, on Wednesday May 27th at his residence, Cache Valley Assisted Living in Providence, Utah.

Joseph enlisted in the United States Air Force the 9th of May, 1955. He served in Greenland, Charleston, South Carolina and Travis, California. He was honorably discharged at Travis Air Force Base the 10th of July, 1963.

While serving in Charleston, South Carolina he met and married Leticia Ann Smead, the 1st of October 1961. In 1963 they moved to Grass Valley, California where their first son was born, Richard Mark Deschler on the 18th of September 1963. Joseph worked in construction for many years on projects such as bridges and freeway overpasses, condominiums at  North Star Ski resort and Bear River High school. In his free time he loved to water ski, camp, rock hound and bowl in the local bowling league. He raced his car and was on pit crews for others as well as being a flagman at the Ernie Purcell speedway. He was a member of the Lyons club, CB radio club, and a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. Joseph and Leticia welcomed a daughter, Kathleen JoAnn Deschler (Griffiths) the 13th of February 1973. Joseph then picked up a new hobby as an umpire for Kathy's softball league.

After retiring from the carpenter's union Joseph entered active military service again the 27th of June 1988, this time in the Army National Guard where he served in many temporary duty assignments in Korea as well as the LA riots. Joseph retired from the Army National Guard the 29th of February 1996.

In retirement Joseph loved taking trips in his RV to Arizona and Oregon. He enjoyed watching football, and playing card games and became a Wii bowling champion. He loved taking friends and family fishing on his boats and crabbing on the bay in Oregon. He loved spending time with and bragging about his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Mary Jean and Robert Edward Deschler and wife, Leticia Ann Smead Deschler. Joseph's predecessors include siblings James Edward Deschler, William Harold Deschler, Fredric Lee Deschler, Margaret Rose Deschler Campos, and Helen Marie Deschelr. Children, Richard mark Deschler, Kathleen JoAnn Deschler Griffiths and son in law Robert Darrell Griffiths. Grandchildren, Alexandra Nicole Rance, Austin Michael Deschler, Savannah Morgan Deschler Sandoval (Dylan Sandoval), Todd Michael Griffiths (Marisa Felice Jones Griffiths), Samuel Richard Griffiths (Amy Elizabeth South Griffiths), Kyle Robert Griffiths, Rachel Kathleen Griffiths and Elisabeth Leticia Griffiths. Great grandchildren, Annie Felice Griffiths, Margo Bela Griffiths, Kit Linda Griffiths, Morgan James Sandoval.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026. There will be a viewing at 12:00 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, followed by a graveside service at the Providence City Cemetery at 1:00.
