Joyce Ruth Harker, 91 died October 16, 2025 in Logan UT.
She was born October 13, 1934, to Neil “Owen” Heileson and Emily Rytting in Idaho Falls, ID. She attended Idaho Falls High School and Ricks College. While there she played the clarinet.
On April 2, 1953, Joyce married her childhood sweetheart, Ronald C Harker, in the Idaho Falls Temple after which they moved to Pocatello.They moved to D.C. where Ron was deployed for the Korean War. While in D.C. Joyce worked for the Secretary of the Dept of Agriculture, Ezra Taft Benson. They later settled in Osgood where they spent the majority of their lives.
Joyce was an accomplished pianist and organist. She taught piano for many years. Joyce served in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including organist and chorist. Music was a large part of her life.
Joyce is survived by her sisters-in-law, Tess Nelson and Verla Harker; Children, Steve (Jewel) Harker, Susan (Joel) Cleverley, Robert Harker, John (Brenda) Harker, Paul (Eileen) Harker, Alan (Kim) Harker and Thomas Harker. Her posterity numbers 30 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Harker, parents, Neil and Emily Heileson; brothers LaVere, Ronald, Doyle and Gene; sisters, Fern, Zelda, Lucille, and Rula; and granddaughter, Camille Cleverley.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice, Sunshine Terrace and Wendy Serr for the excellent care.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00 am in the LDS Church located at 460 South 100 East, Mendon UT with viewing beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Shelly Idaho Cemetery.
