June Lake

HYDE PARK - Early in the morning on December 15th June Lake, 80, passed away from natural causes at her home in Hyde Park. Our beloved Mother, Nanna, Great-Nanna and friend left this earth to re-unite with the love of her life, our Father and her eldest daughter Rosanne Jane.
Mom was born January 2,1931 in Oxford, England to Winfred Young Stimson and William henry Stimson. She and her older brother Ken, were raised in Oxford England. She attended and graduated from school in oxford, England.
Mom met our Father while she was attending an Air Force Dance while our Father was serving in the United States Air Force. They married soon after on August 18th. They later married in the Los Angeles Temple. Where they were sealed for time and all eternity. Their first daughter , Rosanne, was born in London, England followed by a move with the Air Force to Roswell, New Mexico where they were blessed with their twin daughters, Karla and Karyn. A short thirteen months later their youngest daughter, Paula June was born.
In 1960 they moved to El Segundo, California where dad was employed as a mechanic for Chevron Oil Refinery and Mom was a Medical Transcriber for Sepulveda Medical Group in El Segundo. While living in El Segundo they did a lot of traveling in their trailer to Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming all for the sake of fishing.
On December 12, 1980, they arrived in Utah and again this move was for the sake of fishing. Dad bought an automotive garage which became Lake’s Garage and Custom Fly rods, in Hyde Park.
Mom was a very special lady. She was a dear friend to all those she came in contact with. She made everyone feel special. She had a great love for her Heavenly Father. She had a special love for missionaries and missionary work. She also had a great love for all the young people she came in contact with. She was always sincerely interested in their stories which left them feeling good and mom always said they lifted her spirits and helped her stay young.
Mom enjoyed the little things in life. Reading, knitting, breathing fresh air, and listening to the sounds of nature. She loved knitting baby jackets and booties for the newborns in her neighborhood.
June is survived by three daughters, Karla (Robert) Chambers, Logan. Karyn (Don) Cawdrey, Bullhead, Arizona and Paula (Jeff) Purser, Hyde Park. Grandchildren, Devon Nelson, Craig Foley, Melissa Mendoza, Jessica Barrett and Luke and Kara Purser. Great Grandchildren, Stormi and Sierra Nelson, Bryan and Jaxon Purser, Estrella Mendoza , and Rayden Sherwood, sister-in-law. Joan Stimson of Devon, England and her special cousin Esme Fordham of Billericay, England.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Avon, a daughter, Rosanne Foley-Thomas, granddaughter, Robyn Thomas, brother, Ken Stimson, two infant brothers and her parents.
We will miss our mother dearly. Life will never be the same without her. We love you mom, until we meet again.
