Katherine Lorraine passed away peacefully at the Legacy House in Logan Utah, at the age of 91.
Born to Katherine (Kate) and Gurney James on November 25, 1934 in Challis Idaho. Lorraine grew up with her eight brothers and sisters (Richard, Harry, Stella Winter, Jean Marie “Tiny” Williams, Carol Bush, Janet Argyle and Jimmy). She attended the schools in Challis Idaho. She always talked about how great it was to grow up in Challis and the fun that she, her brothers, her sisters and friends had growing up together.
It was in Challis Idaho where she first met Roy David Liechty while he was working with a construction company building the high school. They dated, and were married 11 June 1950, in Challis Idaho. They with their 5 sons were later sealed in the Logan Temple, Logan Utah, on the 11th of June 1965 and lived in Providence, Utah. Roy passed on the 28th of January 1988. After a few years of being alone, she started dating Wendell Dewy Olsen and they were married on the 14th of February 1994 and added 4 more sons, Craig (Pat), Terry (Michael), Gary (Jane) and Cordell (Stephanie). Wendell passed on the 16th of May 2017.
They both came from large families. Roy and Lorraine raised 5 boys Russel (Janell), Michael (Karen), Ronald (Hollie – deceased) (Mari), Bret (Debra) and James (Teresa). Proud of her heritage, Lorrine loved spending time with family and sharing many memories and loving family time.
Lorraine’s career not only included raising her 5 boys but working at the Logan Hospital for 35 years as a staffing coordinator. Upon retiring from the hospital, Lorraine and Wendell continued to serve by volunteering at the Logan Free Clinic until its closing.
Lorraine is survived by her 5 sons, 3 step sons and their spouses, as well as 34 grand-children, 62 great grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her mother and father, all of her brothers and sisters, Roy, Wendell, Craig Olsen, one grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
A special thanks to Dr. Jeffery Huffman, the Legacy House staff and the Community Nursing Staff for all their support and help with mom.
She was loved, respected, and will be greatly missed.
