Obituary

Keith Stanley Hansen passed peacefully at his home in Amalga, Thursday, May 14, 2026. Keith was born in Amalga on February 6th, 1932, to Vagn and Ruth Hansen. Keith was the 2nd son of 5 brothers (Richard, Keith, Sheridan, Sidney and Dean).

Keith graduated from North Cache High School in 1950. While in attendance at North Cache HS he was named as the outstanding athlete his senior year. After graduating high school he went to college on a scholarship for one year prior to joining the Navy in April 1951.

While stationed in California he met his love and eternal companion Carroll Billstrom. They were married in the Logan Temple on April 29, 1955. Upon discharge from the Navy, Keith attended Utah State University, graduating in 1959.

After graduation Keith was employed with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He served as an Assistant Refuge Manger as well as a Refuge Manager serving on several National Wildlife Refuges in the Southwest region. Keith retired from the US Fish and Wildlife Service in 1989.

Keith and Carroll had 4 children (Deborah, Neal, Scott and Susan).

During his life Keith dedicated himself to many service organizations. He joined Lions Club in 1970 and remained a member until death. While in Lions he served in many positions including District Governor in 1976. Keith also served in the Boy Scouts, received the Silver Beaver Award and held the positions of Scout Master, Troop Committee Chairman, and Tomahawk District Commissioner. Keith was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After retirement he served 8 years on the Amalga Town Council. Keith also served on the Blue Sox Board of Directors for 31 years.

Keith was active in sports, hunting, gardening and woodworking. In his later years he and Carroll enjoyed their retirement traveling in the US and overseas.

Keith is survived by his 4 children, Deborah (Ken) Hadley, Neal (Pat) Hansen, Scott (Kay) Hansen and Susan Wilson, 12 Grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and his 2 brothers (Sheridan and Dean)

Keith was preceded in death by his wife Carroll, his parents, his brothers Richard and Sidney, and daughter-in-law Pat Hansen.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Amalga branch at 11:00am on Tuesday May, 26, 2026. Visitation will be at the same location starting at 9:30am the same date.
