Leora Hale Monson
MILLVILLE, UTAH - Leora Hale Monson, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 with family by her side.
She was born September 22, 1921 in Smithfiled, Utah to Joseph Alma Hale and Rosella Clark Hale.
Her childhood years were spent in various parts of Idaho. She graduated from Shelley High School in Shelley, Idaho. From there she moved to Logan, Utah to attend Beauty College.
On December 9, 1942 she married her sweetheart Oscar A Monson of Millville, Utah in the Logan LDS temple. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on December 9, 2009.
For most of her married life she worked as a beautician both in Logan and in her own beauty shop at home while she raised their 3 children. In her spare time she helped Oscar on their farm in Millville, Utah.
She served in many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Many years were spent in giving compassionate service to anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Rex A Hale, a sister LaVern H Hillman and an infant brother Joseph A Hale Jr.
She was also preceded in death by a infant granddaughter (Geri Monson), a daughter-in-law (Sandy Monson) and a son-in law (Karl Mower).
Surviving are her husband Oscar A Monson of Millville, Utah.
Carolyn (Lynn) Bott of Dillon, Montana. Vern (Sandy, deceased) Monson of West Vallley City, Utah. Denese (Lynn) Nish of Millville, Utah. She is also survivied by 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the special people who have helped in so many ways during the last challenging years of Leora's life. Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Jeffrey M. Huffman for his compaasionate care and concern for Leora and her family. Appreciation and thanks are also extended to all the staff at Sunshine Terrace who cared for Leora during the last days of her life.
Funeral services will be held Monday January 25, 2010 at Noon in the Millville 1 st Ward chapel at 110 S. Main in Millville, Utah.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday January 24, 2010 from
6-8pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan, Utah. And also from 10:30 to 11 :30am at the Millville chapel prior to the services. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
