Lezlie a beloved wife, stepmom, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away on May 24th, 2025, after a brief illness. Lezlie was born on December 31st, 1955, in Logan Utah to Carlyn “Tim” Shumway and Richard Clair Hansen. Lezlie spent her childhood in Smithfield where she enjoyed spending time with her sisters and brother. Lezlie graduated from Sky View High school in 1974 and then attended LDS Business school in Salt Lake City. After graduating from the LDS Business school Lezlie moved back to the Cache Valley area where she met and married Ray Cooper, they were later divorced.
Lezlie then met the love of her life Paul Nelson, they were married on May 2nd, 1987, and Lezlie became a loving stepmom to Chris and Staci. Lezlie and Paul enjoyed traveling to National Parks and being with each other. Lezlie enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and her many nephews and nieces. She was deeply loved by all of them.
Lezlie spent most of her career at the Sunshine Terrace as a Physical Therapist Aide, where she enjoyed working with the patients. She then later worked at Icon and Great Western Parks and Playground. Lezlie loved to volunteer and worked with the CASA program as well as volunteered at Logan Regional Hospital.
Lezlie is survived by her husband Paul, her stepson Chris (Kaylene) Nelson, stepdaughter Staci (Gary Landon) Johnson, grandchildren Jeffrey Johnson, Brett Nelson, Ryley Nelson, Derek Nelson, and great-granddaughter Nylah Nelson. Her mother Carlyn “Tim” Rickert, sister Tami (John) Calderwood, brother Richard Hansen.
Lezlie was preceded in death by her father Richard Clair Hansen, stepfather Devoe Rickert, and sister Michelle (Garth) Snyder, and Grandparents.
Lezlie was loving taken care of by Rocky Mountain Care.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 am at Allen-Hall Mortuary on 34 East Center in Logan, Utah, and a visitation prior to the funeral from 9:30am-10:30am.
