Linda Elwood Hallmark, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26th, 2025. Born on October 1st, 1951, in Olympia, Washington, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Victoria Elwood. She was raised in Smithfield alongside her four siblings— Anne, Todd, Don, and Jeff—and went on to become a loving mother to her three children: Eric, Matthew, and Ian. Although she spent her early years in Smithfield, Utah, Linda made her home in Logan, Utah for most of her later life.
She was known for her deep love of cooking and baking. She found inspiration from watching her favorite Food Network shows featuring Emeril Lagasse, Paula Deen, Wolfgang Puck, and Guy Fieri, all the while curating an ever-growing collection of cookbooks. She passed this passion on to her children, teaching them to appreciate the joy of preparing home cooked meals together. She always had the latest and greatest cookware gadgets, as it kept things fresh and exciting in the kitchen!
Linda’s love for shopping was infectious. Alongside her sister, many a day were dedicated to HSN/QVC, always ensuring her loved ones were not without. Purchases ranged from sportswear to dinnerware and any other random item that tickled their fancy.
Over the years, she worked at various companies, forming many lasting friendships along the way, including-Schreiber’s, Bourns, Texaco, and Lowe’s.
Linda leaves behind her children, Eric and Ian; her stepchildren, Shelly, Anne, and Steven; daughter-in-law Tammi Godfrey; her beloved grandchildren, Jayden, Sierra, and Eric; her siblings, Don and Jeff; sister-in-law, Kimberly Elwood; ex-husband John Sindt; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Elwood and Victoria Elwood; her husband, Michael J. Hallmark; ex-husband Delece Gordon Godfrey; her son, Matthew Godfrey; and her siblings, Helen Anne Elwood and Todd Elwood.
In accordance with Linda's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no formal service. Family and friends are encouraged to reach out to Ian Sindt via Facebook or other platforms to share memories and unite. May the image of Linda’s shining smile never be forgotten and her laughter echo in your memories.
