Lynn R Olson

Apr 27, 1948 — Aug 25, 2026

Logan

Lynn R Olson, 78, born April 27, 1948, in Lewiston, Utah passed away in his sleep in the wee hours of the morning of August 25, 2026. Lynn is preceded in death by his father Carl Oscar; Mother, Elsie; brother, Melvin (Barbara) and survived by a brother, Gordon (Joleen) and many loving nieces and nephews and their spouses and children.

Lynn grew up and lived most of his life in Trenton, Utah. After his mother passed, he moved to Smithfield and then, in more recent years, to the Sunshine Terrace in Logan.

He started school in Lewiston and eventually graduated from a special program at Sky View High School.

Lynn was a die-hard Aggies fan and rarely missed a game live or on TV, many times attending games with his friends from Trenton even after moving to Smithfield.

He always kept his nephews (and nieces but mostly the nephews) staying at Grammie's well entertained and in trouble during excursions to Newton Dam, Downata Hot Springs, and the Preston rodeos.

Lynn was a hard worker! He could buck bales of hay all day, come home and wash off the hay dust and sweat, only to be off to a ball game – to play church ball or to watch an Aggies game.

A viewing for family and friends will be held September 2nd at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 S Main St, Smithfield, UT, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service at the Millville Cemetery September 3rd at 11:00 a.m.

He will be missed but we know he is with his family, without pain, and no longer burdened by earthly impediments.

The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Sunshine Terrace for their exemplary care and service to Lynn.

In lieu of flowers, honor Lynn by donating to Sunshine Terrace Foundation, or the charity of your choice.

Memories and condolences may be shared and expressed at www.allenmortuaries.com.
