Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mary Margaret Wilson Jorgensen, 85, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in Ogden, Utah.
Margaret was born May 6, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Fairal Leon and Kathyrn Eardley Wilson. Her formative years were spent on Roosevelt Avenue in Sugarhouse, with her older sister Joan and younger brother Jim. She graduated from South High School in the spring of 1958 and in the fall began studying Elementary Education at Utah State University.
In 1960, while at USU, she met her eternal friend and sweetheart, Allen Rawlins Jorgensen. They married on September 29,1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. Margaret graduated from USU in 1962 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
She and Allen welcomed four children, and she enjoyed 13 years as a full-time mother, supporting their various activities and volunteering in both the community and church. She returned to teaching when her youngest daughter entered first grade and would spend the next 24 years sharing her knowledge and love of learning with the children in the Davis School District.
In addition to her loves of being a mother and teacher, Margaret was foremost a follower of Jesus Christ and a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She spent countless hours learning about her ancestors and was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for almost 60 years. She was a lifelong learner who loved reading, music, travel, puzzles, adventures with grandchildren, and most recently water aerobics in the morning and Family Home Evening with her friends on Monday nights. Her spirit of endless generosity and thoughtfulness has blessed the lives of many.
