Marva Jean Leatham

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Marva Jean Robbins Leatham, affectionately known as “Jean,” was born on October 20, 1940, in Meeker, Colorado, to Floyd Jesse Robbins and Ellen LaVone Boren.

Jean spent her childhood on a ranch in Colorado alongside her parents and siblings, where she developed a lifelong love of animals. That love remained with her throughout her life and was something she passed on to her family. She always had a beloved furry companion by her side. Jean spent many years breeding and showing Paint Horses, competing in halter classes with great success. She earned the prestigious World Champion Halter Horse title in 1993 and 1994 and achieved many other accomplishments throughout her years of showing horses. She was a proud member of the American Paint Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association as well as the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Jean also loved reading and playing the piano and organ. Above all, she treasured her family and friends and enjoyed making lasting memories with those she loved. 

Jean passed away at her home in Harrisburg, Utah, on June 26, 2026. She loved her Harrisburg community and the many friendships she built there. Her family is deeply grateful for the kindness, friendship, and support shown to her by the community over the years.

She has returned to her heavenly home and was joyfully reunited with her parents; her sister, Opal; her brother, Gary; her daughter, Shana Aposhian; and two great-grandbabies, Rebyl and Ozzy.

Jean is lovingly survived by her sister, Veyon (Vern); and children, Pam (Ralph) Hatton and Mike Leatham. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love, strength, and gentle spirit.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. A small graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Wellsville Cemetery in Wellsville, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend as they celebrate Jean’s life and honor her memory.
