Mary Ruth Bullock

June 29, 1950 — September 27, 2025

Mary Ruth Maxwell Bullock, age 75, passed away on September 27, 2025, in Logan, Utah, after a seven-year-long battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 29, 1950, to Richard Maxwell and Ruth Hammer, and grew up with three loving brothers.

Mary wed Brent Bullock on September 10, 1971, in Redwood City, California. Together they raised five children, moving from state to state before eventually settling in the Salt Lake City area, where Mary formed lasting friendships and cherished neighbors in the Willowcreek First Ward of Sandy, Utah.

Mary carried a quiet strength and greeted all she met with kindness and warmth. Her greatest joy was her family, to whom she gave countless years of love and selfless care. She was quick to smile, loved to laugh, and will be remembered for the way she tapped her foot and sang along to the music she cherished—even in her final days. She loved music.

She is survived by her husband, Brent; her children, Dallas Patrick Bullock, Megan Ruth (Todd) Thueson, Laura Marguerite Bullock, Dylan Maxwell Bullock, and Sarah Ann (Blaine) Hadfield; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brothers John and Doug. She was preceded in death by her brother Bill.

The family wishes to thank Brent, as well as the Thueson family—Megan, Todd, Logan, and Lilly—for their tender care and countless acts of service on Mary’s behalf. “Thank you” will never be enough.

Her life will be celebrated in a small family gathering. All others are invited to remember Mary in their hearts, smile as she so often did, and whenever possible, tap your foot and sing along to your favorite song.
