Michael passed away peacefully at home, in Mendon, Utah on October 6, 2026. He was born to Kay Ridges and Luana Bennett in Twin Falls Idaho and was the youngest of 4 children. His siblings are Wesley, Annette and David.
Michael is a true son of Cache Valley. His early years were spent growing up on various farms until the family settled in Millville, Utah.
When his mother passed away at the tender age of 12, Michael gave a new meaning to the phrase " Run A Muck". It is rumored that his mischievous adventures may have included borrowing some farmers’ pigs, but there was never any proof to that claim.
One day he saw a boy pushing his bike down the hill without a rider and thought he’d better get in on that action, Al Iversen has been his best friend ever since and it is also rumored that their shenanigans continued up into adulthood.
Mike worked various jobs throughout the valley. Dishwasher at Sherwood Hills, mechanic and later Schreiber’s Cheese in Logan. But Michael was still restless and had a love for cars so he teamed up with his two dear friends Bob and Scott and started a local business, known today as Deals on Wheels.
Later Mike branched out and bought Big Red, A Kenworth Semi and a car hauler and became the Deals on Wheels Transporter. Using his great intellect and redneck ingenuity Mike designed, fabricated and built his own car haulers holding up to 12 cars at a time.
After all of his business success there was only one thing missing. A partner to share his life with. Michael met Patricia Skinner and they married three years later, on 10/11/2012 in a private ceremony in Niagara Falls.
Their union created a blended family of 8: Lisa Archuletta, Brandon Bennett (Terri) , Nikki Grothe (Mitch), Amber Gonda (Robert), Mehgan Ault, AJ Ault, Michael Norton (Tonya) and Melanie Norton (John Scheller).
Michael was a restless spirit and a steady hand, an inventor and a businessman, a biker and a philosopher, a lover and a friend, a father, grandfather and great grandfather, and a loving husband. Michael was more than happy to pass along his words of wisdom and life advice to anyone who wanted to hear it, and some that did not. He was a great mentor and influence to many, especially to the grandchildren. His last business was building a beautiful red barn, known as Pride at The Barn Boarding and Dog food in Mendon. The few times he got in trouble, he always had a place to go. His very own doghouse.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Eric Archeletta (grandson) and Frank Thompson (brother-in-law.)
Michael is survived by his wife Patricia, 8 children, 25 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and his three siblings.
You can pay your respects to the family on Friday, October 16, 2026 at the Mendon LDS Church located at 20 North 100 West in Mendon Utah. There will be gathering from 10:00-10:45 AM, followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
