Nancy Jane Thompson

Nancy Jane Jorgensen Thompson, 89 of Clarkston Utah. Beloved mother, wife and sister passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 1, 2026 at the Legacy House in Logan Utah. She passed away supported by the love of her family and embraced in the arms of her savior.

Nancy was born December 26,1936 in Lewiston Utah to Milton and Alveretta Jorgensen, She was the sixth of nine children, Four brothers and four sisters. Raised on the family farm, she grew up in a home centered on faith, family and hard work. This upbringing shaped her character and instilled in her values that supported her throughout her life.

After graduation from North Cache High School, Nancy met and married Gary Thompson in June 1955. Together they started building a family. Her life’s passion was her family and the Gospel. She felt that any problem could be solved if you took it to the lord. She served in many auxilliary’s for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ,and always proudly held a calling in the church. She was also a member and served as president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Martin Harris camp.

Nancy was detail oriented, she used these skills and excelled at office management for DR. Gates, Jensen and Warren. She also enjoyed several years of employment working with her daughters in retail sales, and in property management.

Later in life Nancy and Gary served an LDS mission in Tennessee. This was very rewarding for Nancy as she loved serving the lord and others. Upon returning home they worked at the Salt Lake Conference Center and later as officiators in the Logan Utah Temple. Working with her husband while serving the lord was a highlight of her life.

Nancy loved to travel with family. She has explored Great Brittain, Europe, Africa, Asia, as well as many places in America.

Nancy is survived by her children. Trudy (Jeff) Ballard, Chad (Kennie) Thompson, Angela (Blain) Housley. She has 12 Grandchildren, and 25 Great grandchildren.

She was preceded in Death by her Husband of 71 years Gary Thompson and her parents Milton and Alveretta Jorensen.

Funeral services for Nancy will be held on Friday October 9th 2026 at 11:00 am in the Clarkston Ward Chapel at 25 East 100 South Clarkston, UT. A Viewing will be held prior to the services 9:00-10:30 at the church. An additional viewing will be held on Thursday evening, October 8th 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Clarkston ward Church house.

Interment will be in the Clarkston City Cemetery.
