In Loving Memory of Nellie Mary Miller Gibb
Nellie Mary Miller Gibb, 84, of Logan, Utah, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. She was born August 31, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas. On June 17, 1960, she married Gerald Gibb in Alexandria, Virginia, and together they shared 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2017. After his death, Nellie relocated to Logan to be near family.
Nellie attended Brigham Young University and early in her life worked as a secretary for the FBI. She dedicated many years to raising her young children—often managing the household alone during her husband’s deployments. Later, she accepted a position with the South Sanpete School District, where she worked until her retirement.
She and Gerald were blessed with five children:
• Gerald Mark (Kelly) of Bend, Oregon
• Lori Melinda Wettstein (Jim) of Hebo Oregon
• Jennifer Melissa Thurston of Logan, Utah
• Eileen Melee O’Brien (John) of Logan, Utah
• Megan Melynn Greenwood (Ned) Clinton, UT
Nellie’s greatest joy came from her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who filled her life with laughter, purpose, and love.
As a military wife, Nellie lived in many places across the U.S. and abroad—including Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, Utah, Kansas, and two U.S. Army bases in Germany. While in Germany, she was grateful for opportunities to travel throughout Europe, visiting beautiful landmarks and immersing herself in different cultures.
Her passions included sewing, painting, traveling, and long drives in the mountains with Gerald. Her home was always open to family, friends, and even strangers seeking a meal, a place to rest, or a welcoming presence. Often, there was more than one extra person living under her roof, a testament to her generosity and hospitable heart.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Nellie was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully attended church services, and studied the gospel doctrine. She will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, strength, and the boundless love she shared with all.
Her Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Canyon Ridge Ward Chapel, 1380 Mountain Road, Logan, Utah.
